Mother Barista ♥ Encouragement To Talk To Your Elders And Hear Their Stories

Good morning! I hope that you're having a positive and elevated day! So, I've began writing another book, "The Devil's Daughter Den: A Tale Of Three Generations". This will be a short story that is compromised of three life journeys: my grandmother, my mother, and myself. While conducting research of their background, I was utterly amazed. I am aware of how short of a time the descendants of Africa have been off the plantation. But, it wasn't until I began researching for my book that I realized, how close it is. My great-grandmother lived in the Jim Crow era, a time when she could not vote. My grandmother's mother, which is only 4 generations! I am amazed by this because we (millennials) often take for granted the sacrifices that have been made and the battles that have been fought. Collectively, we have not appreciated the strength of our ancestors, our roots. Today, I encourage you to reach out to the elders in your family. Hear their stories and I'm confident you'll discover things you never knew. Queen Maya Angelou proclaimed,"There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside of you." So, hear the stories of your elders and watch how happy they will be to share their memories with you.

Have a positive and elevated day.
